compressor part needed

Looking for a little tap thing for my compressor as I managed to snap it off

I have no idea what its called though and where to find one

that would be your shut off valve ..which you dont actually need,i leave mine open all the time as its the big red dial that regulates flow , but if youve broken it with the valve shut you
 could unscrew the whole thing …the bit where the arrows are and buy another one from machine mart or somewhere similar

I think it is a shut off valve, was just asking what it was called as I needed a new one as that one is leaking air now

Could you twist a baby carrot into that hole?

It's a shut off valve, sometimes called a mini ball valve. Like said you could do without it but they don't leak where the quick coupling might and the compressor will be empty every time you come to use it.
It's a 1/4" male - male shut off valve what you ask for.
