Company name.. any ideas welcome
:dontknow: Ok guys I could really use some suggestions
I'm trying to think of a catchy company name for my mobile mechanic business I'm about to start but I'm not convinced with any I've come up with
so far ideas are:
Speedy Spanners - Mobile Mechanics
P.J. Mechanics
or
Mobimech
everything else is just terrible! can anyone think of something better?

Im just Ross Irvine - Mobile Mechanic
Thought about a catchy name, but felt my name was a bit more personal, which is what I am aiming for in my service, plus half the town know me because of the mk1! - Do the right thing and work out the back off your mk1 - have had loads of business as a result!

id go with ross mate, names are more trust worthy generally, as you are immediately on first name terms with who is going to be doing the work. just my two pence!

I can confirm that having your name in there somehwere is a good thing!. I see many people per day and more than a few have stated that it makes them feel that you are more trustworthy and is more personal. I haven't done it on mine, but I do use it on any advertising
I went for an acronym so on the livery I could have the company name and the first letter can be used to spell out exactly what I do I.E. mines
S atellite
A aerial
F

Digital Ltd
Not going to fill this in completly as it may be considered advertising (which is not what i'm after… busy enough)

Another vote for using your name. People generally have more trust in a business with a personal name rather than some slogan to hide behind. Another thing on any advertising you are doing be sure to include a landline number as well as the mobile. The fly by night characters tend to advertise with a mobile number only. Also there is a tiny tiny proportion of the population (mostly OAPs) who refuse to call mobile phones.
Good luck with your venture.

From what I see it's much more than a tiny part of the population, I would avoid national rate numbers too!. You could arrange a freephone number but they aren't that cost affective IMO, I would recommend a localised Skype number as a landline as it's a local area code any if you're lucky you can pick a number which spells your business name - not that many people use or even think of that nowadays. Also, this way you can have your landline on your mobile too, so you'll never miss a call, handy if you're a 'mobile' mechanic
