cold?do i not like that!

can cars be like there owners? now weathers turned im even worse at gettin goin in the morning unfortunatley so is my auto cab, its had a manuel choke fitted but still it takes for ever to get goin.its fine when warmed up and to be fair it always fires up in the end but sometimes its close!, flat battery or start. its not garaged but i do cover it, to try keep frost off and keep it a bit warmer. any advice would be gratefully recieved or is it just the joys/gamble of ownin a 20 yr old car??!!!

battry from a tdi car, the biggest that will fit will give lots of cold cranking amps to help spin that starter over nice and fast.

also a service and check up wouldnt go amiss, new dizzy, leads, rotor arm etc.. and a timing check,
