Chromed bumpers with dents and deficencies

Could a set of chromed bumpers be worth any thing if they have for instance holes on top after mounting auxiliary lights? Or worse missing the side plastic pieces?

As I seen ebayers are willing to pay ALOT for the chromed bumpers, at least when in good nick, but will the price sink like a rock if it has two holes on top or is missing parts?

I would of thought that if they have extra holes this would make them virtually worthless as people want them for show.
If they are only missing the end caps then thats not so much a problem as they can be sourced.

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

Well an item is worth what someone's prepared to pay for it, so if you don't want them, bung 'em on e-bay and see what you get. You've nothing to loose really.

They would be worth something to someone mate…

If someone has access to cheap chroming, they could weld up the holes in 5 mins!

Alternatively, there could be someone out there who wants chrome bumpers and spotlamps mounted on them - Hey presto, ready drilled holes!

Might be worth taking them to a place that restores old bikes/cars and does their own chroming.  Ask how much to weld a plate over the hole and chrome 'em - you'd find it woulnd't cost too much and I bet freshly re-chromes bumpers would fetch a mint in todays market.

Remember how fickle fashion is though - if you hang about, you might end up with bumpers you can't shift if you leave it for a few months or so…

Or sell them now and let someone else deal with the hassle of getting them restored  8)
