Cat and Fiddle average speed camera calculation

From the Macclesfield side, the first camera is 4.2 miles from the pub, or 4.5 miles from the second camera.  Average speed is 50mph, so as long as you get to the pub (or from the pub to the Macclesfield side camera) in more than five minutes thirty seconds (call it six minutes to be safe) job's a good 'un.

The first camera from the Macclesfield side is 2.5 miles from the first 50 sign.

Anyone fancy a meet up there or an average speed league table?

So the camera's just beyond the pub? Blast up the hill as fast as possible, stop at the pub and your average speed registers as about 0.1mph?

Allegedly they are not switched on yet.  There is a side road that connects the main roads that hasn't got a camera on it and so mucks up any calculations.

I passed thru there the other month and only realised they were average speed cameras as I was slowing down for the 3rd one… oh sh….
Never got a ticket.

Oh and thanks to all the bikers that weren't quite as good as they thought they were, now we all have to suffer.

simple solution for that road would be to close it for one way traffic only

for example 12 midnight to 12 noon have east to west and 12 noon to 12 midnight have west to east.

and then charge £1 to cross it with no speed limits!!

would then still retain the best road in britain status..

I have no idea what you mean, condoning that sort of behaviour would be irresponsible on a public forum…
