Defo keeps the moisture out.
I find its better for stopping the aluminium parts from furring up and stops any mildew forming.
I checked mine on Friday night and the outside of the tent was ringing wet but the car was completely dry inside.
The moisture occurs after a cold period of weather and then a sudden increase in temp causes the moisture in the warmer air to condensate on the cold metal. This has happened a couple of times this winter.
It works by circulating air around the car which stops the moisture forming - the same way a frost free freezer works.
You do need mains electric ideally. Although it can be run off car batteries if your willing to change them regular.
I'm currently in talks with the supplier of mine to see if I can get club members a discount in exchange for an advert on our site. I discussed it with him at the NEC in November and he seemed keen to support, I'll chase it.
Here's mine……

Really well built and sturdy. Paid £180 for it.
You can buy a frame that goes around the base, but i just used scaffold poles i got for free.
Also used some 2 foot long road pins as anchors hammered into the drive along with tying it to the wall to ensure it doesn't blow away.

Biggest problem i had was the legs blowing 'in' at the bottom. solved with the scaffold poles and road pins.
Survived since about the end of sept. without blowing away so far.

Thanks for the advice guys, Yomp, am I right in thinking that that type is best suited inside a garage, like a carcocoon??
Yes, its indoor only.
