Car insurance? MENTAL renewal
Just had my renewal through on my TT and they want £1033 8O this year i only paid a shade over £400 MADNESS
Thankfully i have a new car to replace the TT with and the insurance on that is a mere £285 yet its newer and still group 17? bizarre.
Also i was doing the comparison routine i do every year and fully comp was £285 but i changed the excess to £100 and somehow changed it to third party only and the same companys price boosted up to £695 :dontknow: wheres the logic?
Rant over

Whilst my mk1 was in the bodyshop I bought a W reg 1.2 Fiat Punto - insured to the tune of £196.50 per month!!!
Now, whilst my mk1 is… umm… mobility challenged, I have an 04 reg 1.2 Fiat Punto - insured to the tune of £90 per month..
Yes, I'm 'angry' that my premium has halved - but it seems random how insurance is calculated…
For instance, when quoting on my Dad's Fiat Coupe I had a premium of £7,800 - Bargain

Rub it in jon!
insurance has got stupid.
when my golf came of the road (£75 pm 2yrs NCD 22) they wanted to up it to £150 for a 2002 focus. A safer newer car is more, doesnt make sense any more. they also changed there mind when i said i wanted to cancel and let me change to the focus. utter madness

I'm 22, only been passed just under 2 years, 2 years no claims, and for my 1.8 gti cab, they want between 600-800 fully comp. Not limited milage, on the drive, as my daily drive.
I know people get it cheaper elsewhere, but how do they justify trying to charge u guys that much?!

car insurance
I'm retired – age has it's advantages at times – pay £120 FC (£3000 guaranteed value for my '86 all white cab) plus £10 road tax.

I had a quote from The green insurance company this year and i noticed a strange thing. When i selected to pay monthly the quote was £305 ish rising to £375 with interest and fees on the monthly payment, when i then selected the Pay full amount option the quote was £375 for one payment up front!!!
Dam insurance companies more interested in signing you up to a monthly payment than having their cash up front, also they offered loads of extras and seemed more interested in that than the insurance they were offering.
