Can anyone help???

Trying to locate an engine/manual gearbox complete to put into an automatic 1.8 Mk1 caddy.
Thought we'd found 1 but its done 188K and ours is only on 98K.
As ive mentioned before we only really need the manual g/box + pedals, clutch, etc…but Ive been advised that it would prob be easier to put a complete engine in?
At the mo we've got a lovely black machine sitting in a garage in Cambridge just itchin to get back on the road…

Do you or anyone have any advice on the auto - manual conversion, ie. if it would be easier to replace the whole engine assmbly rather than just the gearbox & related parts???

Engine is not much different - just need the flywheel and clutch assembly.  Not sure about timing/advance etc which may be different on an auto.

Box,
Pedals & column,
Rack,
Change linkage,
gearbox mounts,
Starter,

…. and more iexpect

Can anyone else give me some advice on wether its easier/better to just change our gearbox or change the whole engine from auto to manual???
