I've had 2 previous convertibles prior to my impending Cabby purchase. The MX5 was driven all year round with the hood down unless it was raining. The hardtop only went on in extreme winter conditions. It had a fantastic heater which helps tremendously.

I also had an E30 BMW 325i convertible but that was alot more draughty ( even with a wind deflector) than the MX5 and I found myself leaving the hood up for most of the winter.

It'll be interesting to see if the Cabby heater is up to warming my toes with the hood down when i get it next week.

Bodi-winchottes, you will find them on ebay. It worked out at ?113.50 inclusive of p+p. I am very impressed indeed, not only is the build quality superb, the fit and also the visual design, but it actually works really well too! I was amazed! Well worth it! They don't mark the car either which was of course my biggest concern! Would you like a contact there?  :)

On the way to work on Wednesday, fleeced up to the eyeballs despite the heater on max. I don't care though - what is the point in owning a covertible if you don't get topless  :dontknow:
Don't know about you lot but everytime I drive my cab it makes me  :D , regardless of how much time/effort/cash she costs me…

Not wanting to put a dampener on top down cruisin' but when I had my (plastic) hood replaced the guy who fitted it told me now to drop the hood in cold weather as thats how the creases and splits occur above the doors etc.

I have kept to this advice and not dropped mine since about October.

It is tempting though in the cold sunny days of wunter to get it down… and be laughed at by other drivers!!!!

PS the XL windbrake is cracking. It covers the rear seats and means that you can store stuff underneath without it getting sucked out. For some reason when I ordered mine 2 turned up.  :dontknow:  sold the other one at Gaydon 2004… within 5 minutes of turning up. Wish I'd had 50 of them!!!!
