Busted Blower

Post

Hi, just after a little bit guidance. I've just brought my cabby out of winter hibernation a couple of days ago and today the blower stopped working. I took a quick look to find the fan wheel nearly seized. Has anyone replaced their blower unit and is it a difficult job??

A long time ago I swapped one from the engine bay side, its a bit of a krypton factor job juggling the blower to extract it after the few fixing are undo. Others claim its impossible and has to be done from inside the car but that involves removing practically the entire interior of the car 1st…..

Lack of use really does for cars.

I'd try and spray some oil down the blower spindles and spin by hand  and make sure all the electrical connectors are clean and tight and see that that frees it up.

its not that diffficult a job one you actually get your head into doing it.
you need to remove the wiper asssembly
then unbolt and remove the grill covering the motor
unbolt and disconnect the the motor
then you need to seperate the motor into 2 halves, its only clip together
now with a bit of jiggling you should be able to remove the 2 halves of the motor one at a time
fitting is the reverse of the above

Nice one guys, had a quick mess about with it this morning. Managed to get the fan out of its hole but not out from the bulkhead. When I have more time I will have a go at removing the wiper assembly and splitting it up. Lots of swearing this morning!!
