Blue '78 mk1 in Watford....?

Right, a blue 78 mk1 5 door with some five spokes and no bumpers….looked fantastic…drove off down towards the met station ….  


anyone on here/know who it is ?!

Where, roughly, do you live in Watford? I spent 10 years 'working' the town and know it really well!! I lived just off Courtlands Drive. I get down there pretty regulary due to the in-laws living in Hatfield. Keep an eye out for a standard red 'A' redg Cabby, (small bumpers) with a cream roof, you never know I may be down there!!

noticed u was talkin bout a blue 5door with no bumpers in watford… anychance it was a one off blue colour series one?

well its my mechanic!!!! hes based in harrow, i live on his road. he restored my black 5door for me. hes working on body now coz some dickhead did a hit and run  :evil:
yeah hes worked on vws his whole life, top bloke top work and dirt cheap prices.
took the bumpers off to show the shape of the car off he told me.

forget to tell u that car is infact his tool box :-)  it used to be multi coloured until he sprayed it again but its all in a different colours coz couldnt match same blue done before. also he kept getting stopped by police who couldnt beleive he had an MOT. hes currently rebuilding a scirroco mk1.

It looked like original VW paint to be honest……no idea….can't be THAT many 5 door '78 mk 1's in the whole of hertfordshire….im the only gold mk1 in the village anyway…   :mrgreen:  :mrgreen:

      Have a look in the photo gallery and my motor is on there. Probably 2/3rd page back by now.

Narrow the town down to Rosecroft Drive then and you've got it!! I moved in 1999 back to Preston and the land of the cheaper housing!!

its actually an audi blue he told me. its got 13inch 5 spokes with no bumpers and looks like its been lowered. im pretty sure hes ur man.
