you may have driven over a plastic bag which melted onto the exhaust pipe underneath your bum!
Well I could only smell the burn when stopped at lights or driving slowly, until one afternoon while parked outside a shop where I had just purchased a cup of take away Java coffee to enjoy for myself after the milk and sugar had been stirred correctly, a lady noticed I had something like the veil of a wedding dress underneath my beast of a car. However it was just a very large industrial sheet of plastic that stuck onto the undercarriage & had been there for days ops:

bought a new clutch today, for only 80 euro but this is due to the kit being missing the bearing, otherwise it would have been 146 yoyos like!
I've got two front wheel bearings to be done & hopefully this will get rid of that awful humming sound when I go over 40mph
Need two new hand break cables & a relay for my indicators.
lots more to get but it's not easy round these parts to find those parts not to mention an honest mechanic
