Anyone on here works with Central heating.....
Problem is that when the Hot water comes on via the timer, the Central heating system also comes on. The timer is set to Off for the central heating and the thermostat is wound right down to its minimum setting.
Just started doing this the other day, any one got any ideas on what it could be or any ideas on what to check ?

Some have a pump and two solenoid valves - one for hot water and one for CH. Others have gravity hot water and only run the pump for CH.
My money is the first one and your CH solenoid valve is stuck open. They are usually near the pump and have a level on the top to manually open.

Found one valve when I was having a poke about on th emain piepwork by the boiler that has what looks like a solenoid type valve on it wiht some wires coming out. Has a couple of pipes running to it. All the pipes get hot when the boiler is on, so my guess is this is some form of control valve and should not let one of the outlets get hot when the heating is not on. My guess is that this is not closing. Sound logical to anyone, and if so can it be fixed (I can take the cover of it as its only held on by screws) or perhap a tap with a hammer to free it off

Turbo - depends on what central heating system you have got.

I've had this happen on a preious house, the solenoid was at fault, about ?20 plus fitting.
Could also be that the hotwater is hot enough and the CH is acting as an overflow. Possible faulty hotwater thermostat?

From your description you have a "3 port motorised valve" . Easily identified by looking at it , it should have 3x22mm pipes going in to it and a white electric cable . On the front you will see a cover with the power off remove the lower screw and take off the cover , look inside and there will be a round motor with wires to it , these are crimped to the electrical flex leaving the valve . This motor is the only servicable part of these valves you may be lucky and find that its faulty . Removal is straight forward including cutting the crimps off the wire . If its not the motor a new valve is needed and i always use http://www.mjtcontrols.co.uk/ who deliver rapidly . Search thier site and buy just the motor or call a plumber to change the valve if you not confident to do it yourself . I am not a fan of the 3 port valve , when it fails it fails and prefer depending on the system to have 2 X 2 port valves instead .
Wow and blocked drains are my favourite
