Am I Asking Too Much For My Rivage?

I have a 93 K-reg Rivage in Classic Blue with 58k.  It has full VW history and I have put it on the Autotrader website for ?5195 but I was thinking about dropping it to ?4995.

What do you guys think?

I just want to make sure it goes to a good home

I'm not too hot with modern technology so I have absolutely no idea how to post pictures!!

If you search the autotrader for Rivages between ?5k-?6k she's on there.

I'm liking that a lot! Worth every penny of what you are asking when the sun is out. Be patient unless you need the cash.

Personally, I think it sounds expensive. I'm sure it's tip top but ?5K is a whole hill of money for a 13 year old car.

Finding a buyer that appreciates the car and its value is going to be tough.

I'd think about posting it in a more specialised market place, one that knows more about the model. Autotrader is a little too Vectra drivers dumping ground for me, sorry!

Have you advertised it on here?

Like Tian says, you could do with targeting the ad towards the connoisseur. Someone on here would definitely pay over ?5k for it…

Depends, a VW bod, esp a MK1 anorak will be interested but if they are just after a cabrio ?5K+ opens up a market of cars with PAS, ABS and airbags etc. Autotrader list lots of Mazda, Renault, Peugeots and even MK111 Golfs @6 years old and even SAAB and Audis less than 10 for that sort of cash.

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Thanks for all the feedback guys  :D

I'm not desperate to get rid but I never use her anymore, too scared that she'll get damaged!  My work car park is full of idiot drivers and we're always getting dents and scratches so in the last year she has clocked up a whopping 19 miles.

I will put an ad on here.  Fingers crossed she will go to someone who loves her as much as I do!

She does look very tidy indeed, nice example.

Unless I needed the cash for urgent surgery, I'd hang on to her!
