all white adition

Hi all

can anyone help me? I have a mk1 gti cab in all white, white hood, trim, and wheels etc. I'm not sure if this is a ltd addition or not. Can anyone mail me and let me know ? tim_hughes1975@yahoo.co.uk

Hi Tim, getting round to emailing you back in greater detail, just doing a bit more research…..(yes, I did do the guide)

From your pics I would say it's a 'Quartet'……the 'All White' had the smaller bumpers - you have Clipper kit, but with a black lower spoiler……

What Year of manufacture is it????

Woops - why did I think Quartet…..they had the small colour coded bumpers too, and produced in '86.
The 'All White' also had distinctive pinstripe cloth insets in leatherette seats and black carpets, and was produced in '85 with the 'All Black' (metallic paint) model.

Think yours is a normal '89 model (with the non-colour coded front spoiler) - and electric windows ?????

That is a Cabrio Quartett with colour coded mirrors and 6x14 Avus wheels, and Lasky White (HA) cloth trim.

..that's what I thought initially, but then can only find Quartett listed (from the pile of production spec bumph I got from VAG) for  '86 - '88.

It may be that I don't have all the stuff though.

From this also the Model Code is down as 154W34 for the All White as opposed to 154234 for the GTI and listed for late '86 to '88 - I thought my GTI was an All White - that's why I got all the production spec sheets to start with (and I must say they are easier to decipher than  F*** - the other lot I used to work for).

The '89 brochure shows the 'standard' GTI Cabrio with these wheels and colour coded mirrors……

….oooooh I do like a mystery……
If we can find all the answers I could include what we know in my buying guide……could be very useful.

What model year is the car? The Quartett was available for '89 MY.

Tim says '89 - so my first inkling was correct ???? ops:  ops:

I own a cab which is the same as Tims with the white roof,seats and white Scarla wheels.
I am always being told that it is a All White GTI or 3W but I think my car is also too late to be one as its year is 1990 and it also has the Clipper kit.
I thought the Quartet has a badge on the rear quarter like the Coco's.
I have the full history of my car and none of the paper work indicates it is a limited edition,I to would love to know what cab i own!!

If you need any more pics or info on the car i can email them of post them on here. Got my new hood today (Original Spec) and intend to keep the car standard. Just need the paint work bringing up to date with the original paint.

it all fits but the cloth is slightly diferent on my seats. I have kind of a square patteren with pin stripes in each square???

so it looks like i have a ltd adition then. Will keep it standard. Needs the paint bringing up to date so will use the original paint code. The drivers seat has a hole thanx to the hole in the roof (new one fitted on Monday) so may get the sides of the seat trimed in white leather? God i love my car
