AA Man

Last weekend my immobiliser barred me from restarting the car. So I called the AA after messing for half an hour and the bloke came out ti fix it. An hour and a half later it was all done, I drove off freezing, the wife sat there cursing and the kids thought it was ever so exciting. This all happened on Saturday.

Wednesday evening on the way home from work I noticed I didn't have any brake lights! Strange I thought so I pulled into a garage forecourt and got my emergency toolkit out. After half an hour I realised I didn't even have a bloody fuse! The AA 'man' must have taken it out! God knows I've been doing sixty motorway miles a day some of it in the dark wth no brake lights! Add to this the fact that I had to drive home with no instrument lights because that fuse went when I was fixing the other one. What should I do? I was angry last night so I held off complaining. Should I let it rest and be thankful I'm alive and the Cabby's still alive too.

Out of the numerous times I've had to call out the AA I think I've only ever had one problem with them - this seems very unprofessional.  What are you hoping to accomplish if you complain?  You'll probably just a get an apology and they'll say they'll talk to the engineer about it.  If you'd been pulled over by the Police and given a ticket that would be a different matter.

I would complain and tell them that if they do something to make this up to you, you will be forced to join the RAC instead next year! You might get a year free cover or something?  :)

You're right Danny mate, it won't make a difference to anything and if I'd been pulled over it would be a different matter, it would also be a different matter if I ended up with  a truck in the back seat or worse!!!! I realise they wont do anything that's part of the reason I haven't called to date. Trouble is we never complain in this country which is why we get crap service.

I'll probably keep my gob shut and who knows something similar might happen to another driver and this time they may not be so lucky, eh! This isn't attention to detail we're talking about here it's a dangerous nicking offense! Just ask out local Bobby topoftherange!

Still don't know if I should complain.

Oh and Walt, I'd rather eat worms than join the RAC.
