A nice surprise

Post

Hello everyone. This is my first post on the forum. I decided to post in here rather than the newbie section as I assume this section, like most forums gets the most views.

Me and my wife have between us, owned all golf mk's 1-5. I currently own an Audi TT and a VW T4 I'm converting into a camper. We've also had a couple of bays and a 1970 beetle. So it's safe to say we are VW enthusiasts! We are regulars at many shows (hence the campers).

So why the Mk1 forum? My wife has owned her 1984 1.8 GTI mk1 Golf CC cabriolet for a while but it's been off the road for about 3 years and just sat in the garage. We only got married on the first of June this year so I decided as a wedding present I would put it back on the road for her. I thought it was more personal to her and took a bit more effort from me than simply going to a shop and buying her a necklace or something. So I replaced a load of parts, insured, MOT'd and taxed it. I took it to our wedding reception and hid it out the back. I revealed the surprise to her during my speech. And this was her reaction

This is her outside with the said golf

Here is our 1972 camper we used as our wedding car

And finally a couple of the Golf

We are hoping to get it back on an A registration later today and I'm waiting on a inner fog so I can put all the standard lights back in. Trying to keep it as OEM as we can. Thanks for reading and I'm sure I'll be a regular on here!
