5 door gti

transfered to a different garage with work for a while and a guy there has this, 1 of 3 apparently(ones been smashed though) imported as gti from new through gti enginering

just comes up as a normal golf on the rac car check,its more than likely a conversion?

The Gti was only ever a 3-door on the MK1 so must be a conversion.

A 5 door GTI sold in Europe for the last or so of mk1 production, think these may have all been Pirelli edition cars. Not sure if these were all left hookers or not, although possible, if it is a genuine GTI engineering example, they may have converted to rhd. If it is an import the DVLA will only have the info given to them when the car was first registered i.e if they were not told it was a gti will not be on the V5.

The 5 door GTI was available as a 'special order' in Germany.

A mate of mine had one (when I was in the army in the Fatherland), metalic black, and always parked next to my 'Old Faithful'……he knew it wound me up.

Definitely a German-spec 5-door GTI imported and converted to RHD - note the wipers are still LHD

I've also seen a few LHD GTDs in the Canary Islands, whilst on hols…

my ex gf almost bought a rhd 5 door gti but i amnaged to persuade her not to.(didnt need 5 doors) it was the first 5 door gti i had seen and it was in a gunmetal grey metalic.

i thought it was a normal 5 door in gti trim but hes poitive its genuine
