The pictures look promising!

How difficult is replacing the fuel filler neck? Is it a DIY on your driveway job or not? Will it have wrecked the fuel injection system or is it a case if it runs it 'might' be OK?

Drain tank and bolt on, the fuel filter should be replaced as well. the fuel fliter is high spec so injection damage is unlikely. would recommend washing the tank out with petrol or some other tank cleaner though.

If the fuel filler is rusty best to check fuel lines as well.

You will only know if you look and if you don't buy you will learn, I would come with you but it's 230 miles to Reading from here  

When I bought my cab I look at 4 all most bought one, which would have been a terrible mistake then I got the one I have. They range from Excellent to good, to poor, to a joke 8O , the buying guides on here are brilliant.

Also drive a few and all will come apparent. there are quite a few golfs around and it will pay to be patent even though when you see something you like the heart takes over.
