Car scams like this are growing and also seen on BBC how its done.

Iv had this happen in my family when selling our car and its unlikely you will ever see your car again if this happens to you.

You not tempted to Buy it now

I was thinking that too…

Scam must be for someone taking latop and running off with car..
But why not use police, rather than ebay?!?!?!?

Think it is just the fact that he wanted a test drive and says" Is it OK just to leave my laptop here?" Seller thinks "oh well he must be coming back then" Bloke drives into sunset and is miles away before seller gets annoyed and looks in laptop bag to find it empty.
If you are stupid enough to let someone drive off in your car with only a laptop as security then you are frankly an idiot and deserve it anyway!

drove off without paying, as far as I can tell he didnt steal
the car it was his.

I get it now but like you said what fool lets someone take a test drive without them now-a-days?
