** URGENT ** help needed from an early Mk1 owner!!
I've just had a call from Simon at Strictly Dubs who's not 100% sure of how the seatbelts mount in my 1976 Mk1, and it's so long since I stripped it that I can't remember ops:
Could someone with an early car out there take some pictures for me of where the reel mounts?
I'd really appreciate it, as the car needs to be finished for Inters and Simon understandably doesn't want to start cutting holes in my new carpet only to find it's in the wrong place!

 hmmm I really puzzled here, its quite clear were they mount as they bolt into the sill, and you don't need to be cutting any holes in the carpet 8O 8O as the carpet won't be over the hole :?
The bottom real for the front belts - remember it shouldn't have any rear belts  will be mounted near the lower part of the rear panel card on the B post it has a plastic cover which hides the mechanism from view the top mounts at about sholder height ( when sitting ) on the B post, The catches for the belts are mounted to the seat subframe,
I can take pictures if you really need :dontknow:
hope that helps abit

'76 models were fitted with an external reel front seat belt, i.e. not the same as later years where the reel was fitted hidden behind a plastic cover inside the side panel. The tapped hole is on the inner sill just in front of where the floor pan goes up for the rear seat (about an inch from the brake line hole). If you need a pic I probably have one somewhere.
Toric made them, they were a dealer fitment

ultra rare then, but still should be quite clear where it goes unless you've had to repair that section as the captive nut should guide the way
