Its just about the right period in history for us lot.

I will be on the look out for Mk1, but the Audi is a good start.

I was about on some of the filming days in Beckton/Canningtown/silvertown  and near london city airport and there are some golfs parked up along other 1980's vehicles. I spoke to phillip sound nothing like DCI  GENE HUNT a very well spoken gentleman. I think it's going to be a good one.

Oh yes I'll be watching & doing the wife's head in with the line:
'Oooo look ANOTHER Mk1'  

I absolutely loved Life on Mars. Gene Hunt is easily the best TV character for years. Cant wait for the new series, as the 80's is right about the time i really started to notice cars as a kid.

my dream car when i was 18ish was a Quattro i go weak at the knees when i see one now looking forward to what could be the best partnership on telly since Morecambe + Wise

I look at it this way at our age we can truly appreciate the glory of the mk1 golf GTI as when we where first driving it was a car we thought we would never own I find my self looking at mine and saying to myself  " got one yess" this may sounds sad to the youngsters but they will never understand.

There was a renewed interest in old fords after a life on mars.

We just need a bad guy in a get away GTi golf……………………….with Hunt chasing in the quattro (he wold never catch it! )

the saxo is coming in season 3 or 4. dci hunt now a retired copper but still just as agressive hunts down wheel chair theifs with a new side kick a cyborg law enforcement officer from 2030 who after taking a bump to the head in the line of duty wakes to find she's been transported back to 1999.

now dealing with cases she had only ever uploaded during training and not believing that policing had ever really been done in such an un PC way she has to deal with the lack of modern day machines in her fight to return to the future and home.

what do you reckon i could be on to something here.

…they should have come to me for all their car chase needs! Mind you, I'm sorry to say I don't think the golf would stand a chance! (well mine wouldn't anyway)
I'm an 80's freak! I'm definitely going to be watching! Here's hoping  it'll add some value to my investments

Surely if the Police are using an Audi quattro all you need to get away is a Lancia?
