VW Specialist/garage/enthusiast in Milton Keynes

Hi,

I have a 1982 Golf C with a 1.8 16v KR engine in but im having some running issues

The revs randomly die to 2-300rpm while driving or on idle! Pushing the accelerater does nothing….it wont rev! it will splutter at low revs for a min or so then die. Start it back up and it does the same  :dontknow:

I have changed the coil, dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs, leads, feul metering head but still have the same problem

This is my daily (and only) car so i really need it sorted ASAP as it is undriveable!

Im no mechanic so would like to know where to take it or if anyone local on here is clued up on this and could come and get it back into action!…..Cash waiting!

whos that thomas,your be lucky he always says he will go and dont,there is a vw speacialist in sherington,its in the back of motering in the citizen,his prices didnt sound to bad

Iv booked it into Autowerks now…..they were highly recommended by a few of the local VW boys. We'l c how it gets on and hopefully it'll be sorted in time for Ultimate Dubs next weekend

saw a pic on toms facebook,car is nice shame it dont drive,hopefully your have it done soon,think you saw my white cabrio on fishermead when you brought tom up to grab something,same probs as you cant drive,head gasket is gone,but will have sorted for summer

Im also in the same boat at the moment. wanna get my mk1 back on the road but I can't get it running! I'm also from the MK area but need to find someone that is good with older VWs, as my local garage said they couldn't really help as they don't touch older cars! Is that autowerks place any good? Any idea what they charge in labour?

Hes got my MK1 at the moment….
Know his stuff about the older vws! Air cooled and water cooled.
