I've never purchased from them, have asked them questions on email before and got a quick response. I plan to use them when I get my head refrub'd.

They've been around that long I'd be surprised if you'd have any issues with them.

Hi,

My car has a 1.9 8v TSR engine fitted in it. I didnt get the transplant done myself, the previous owner did, but I contacted them to verify the honesty of the engine, its age etc…

They were hugely courteous had masses of info and even offered me a free service.

I got the engine running today (no issue with engine but with fuelling) and it is a smooth and steady, looking forward to putting it through its paces at a later date.

Hope that helps your choice

Simon

No probs :thumbs:I've been thinking about using them myself in the future.  Any ideas how much their conversions cost?

No idea mate but I am willing to bet they're a safe bet if they're great on the phone and willing to offer free services. Give them a shout and find out.

There's got to be a few members on here that have used them in the past.

All sounds good so far, nothing bad on hear, I've spoke on the phone to them, and unlike most places they where happy to talk and answer all my questions.. other places just seemed to urm n urghhhh on me.. there prices on conversions are different depending on what engine you want and parts.. But seem exectable to me.. I think I'm going to go for it with them, il post after my work is done with my views on them.

I had a whole bunch of work done with them, nothing related the engine but they did some welding, wiring, fueling, exhaust and other bits and bobs as they surfaced.

Pros:
They know what they are doing
They are happy to oblige and are flexible
Rates are decent
Did i mention they know what they are doing?
Good quality work

Cons:
They are very busy so it can be difficult to get hold of them sometimes, but when you do they are all good.
Make sure you agree the scope and book the job in, they are busy and if you need a lot of other work done, your car goes to the back of the queue behind the other booked jobs which is only fair and totally understandable to the other customers who booked their car in.

On the whole - I would definitely use them again if i needed to.

1980 Series 1 GTI (gone now .. what a mistake selling her!)
1979 Series 1 LD - the Mandarin Dragon … gone as well. oh dear.

In all my paperwork there is a receipt for a touch under £1000 for the 1.9 8v engine in mine, as a unit, so assume the original was swapped to donor another at some point…

How's that engine Simon? Does it feel much quicker than a standard 1.8 GTI?

Just Incase anyone wants to no, TSR PERFORMANCE are great!!

I had a 1.8T CONVERSION done with them, bam engine code, I couldn't be more happier with the car now it's finished, they where very helpful, friendly and well to be honest, just great all round, I'd defiantly recommend them, I live in Heathrow area, and there in Somerset, but that's the only place my car will go to. 10 out 10.

If you get stuck let me know mate. It's fairly simple. There's a how to guide in the Newbie section. :)
