Sacrilege?

Hi guys

I previously owned an ?82 Golf GTI and a ?78 Polo with GT conversion before I went air cooled, then BMW and now Audi. Without wishing to bore you, I now realise my mistake and want to get back on the water cooled bandwagon. I?m not much of an online socialiser so don?t go on forums much, so I was basically wondering if you could help me out.

I?ve got a bit of money heading my way soon, so am planning on buying a fairly decent mk1 Golf that I can run aswell as my A3, then when the A3 sells I can put that money in to the Golf. What I need to know is who are the performance garages that can be trusted with a job like rear mounting a bike engine or maybe a high spec Japanese car engine, and everything that goes along with that. I?m basically thinking something along the lines of a Z Cars Mini but in a mk1. Unfortunately I live down south and can?t be arsed to go to Z Cars!

Hope you can help me out!
Oli

Ps. Is it sacrilege to put a non VAG lump in? Although either way I'm not too bothered!

Have a flick through the back pages of Custom Car, or something like that. I think its unlikely you'd find a garage or specialist who'd take on that kind of work, though.

If you're down south try

Regal http://www.vag-tuner.com/
The Phirm http://www.thephirm.co.uk/

Both VAG specialists (more so The Phirm) and pretty flawless service from what I've heard. Might be good to ask?
