Hi and welcome,

I replaced the hood on my MK1 Cabrio last year with http://www.carhood.com/.
They have a mobile service which i opted for which is really useful if trying to get time off work etc. Cost me £390inc vat for a brand new mohair hood (expensive i know!!).
Cant remember guys name but was really helpful with advice on other things on Mk1 Cabrio's (he's a owner also of one) and the job was very well done outside my house.
Bit of advice for you also is to check the liner inside the car and see what condition thats in. It may also need changing. And how the frame of the roof is? The back windows tend to create rust around it and cant be a problem once the window is popped out for the hood to be replaced. You dont want it all crumbling to bits. So just have a good check all around before you make a decision on whats needed.

Good luck with it all and let us know who you go with, updating us.

regards

Comz

Or  you could have a go fitting your self.
It's time consuming, but rewarding..
Where abouts in the Midlands are you?

I have just had my hood replaced on my 90 cab by car hoods northen who came out to do it. The guy was called joe who is there mk1 expert, proper nice guy and did a cracking job. Well worth a look cost me £465 for a black mohair all in. Word of advice though as someone else has mentioned on here check your rear window frame and if possible get a new frame before fitting as it makes the whole process easier and you don't have to start pulling the roof to pieces to re fit the new frame again.  Matt
