local resoration and engine rebuild

hi all, i,ve been coming in here for a while now, but havent had my mk1 on the road since 2005 ! its been moted untill the last few years, but i havent had the time or money to put her back on the road.
Does anyone know of a local garage that could collect my car and put her back to her former glory?, she needs engine/gearbox rebuild, the engine bay to be painted, and theres a fuel problem, so shes not running anymore.
i,m about 20 miles north of cardiff.

hi fella i could help you out with a lot of your problems,regarding gear box easyer to buy second hand box.but i can spray your engine bay and theres two guys at the yard who can rebuild your engine cheaper than bigger garages.

where in cardiff r u? would they completly strip the engine bay ready for painting, and could they sort the fueling prob out? i,d like the car back running as it should be.

hi mate id take the engine out and paint the engine bay id also get the car running but if you wanted your engine rebuilt id give it to my mate as hes good at that.
my unit id in wentloog have you heared of gmh car breakers?im round the corner from them.

yeah i,ve heard of them, no far from euroclad, how much roughly would it cost me, if you took the engine out, done the paint, and got it running? i thought the prob was the fuel metering head, but ive changed that, and its worse.

I think your better fitting your old metering head and bring your spare one im betting its fuel injectors blocked i had it with mine.
