Garages in norfolk

Just a positive report of a couple of garages in mid Norfolk 8O

Econotune in Swaffham.  These are a VW specialist established in 1972. I've used them for work on all my mk1s over the last 10 years and find them honest and reasonably priced….book well in advance though!

Piccolino Engineering in Upper Marham. Also VW specialists- have looked after my '77 LT28 camper for the past 2 years. They went to great lengths to fabricate a section of tailpipe for the exhaust which was no longer available. Very friendly service. Very busy also.

I dont know about  Econotune in Swaffham but Piccolino Engineering had my golf and forgot to tighten my nuts!!!

3 wheel bolts came out and nearly killed my wife and little boy.

When I took it back to him he said it was kids!

Take what you want from that-subsequently he has now sold his business.

On a lighter note if you go to Breckland Body centre and see a bloke called Paul. He can do pretty much anything and has now gone into breaking VWs/Audis so you can pick up some cheap parts too.

I know the word "specialist nowadays is a rare one an most put an extra 0 on the price for the luxury.

Dont they mostly deal with Jap crap?

They aint bad and the website is a lot better than most garages provide.

Most garages are no up to 21st century and have a pretty basic web page but this one will give you pretty much everything but the price (no garage is that good!)

He wont suck in air as well when you take it in as if to say "its a big job I couldnt posibly quote until I take on the job"

Then slap you in the face 2 weeks later with a big fat bill! :doh:

there is wooleys in hingham.
they are vw specialists but mainly deal with aircooled, although there was a beautiful swallowtail left hooker up on their ramps last week.

situated about 15minutes out of norwich….
and about a minute away from me.
