garage recommendation wanted

I own a silver Mk 1 GTI Campaign 1983 & just had a dismal experience with a main VW garage.
Can anyone point me to a garage that knows about Mk 1s and wants to work on them?
I live in East London but don't mind travelling a reasonable distance if I can find a sympathetic garage.
