Garage in Somerset.....

Ok, for those that are around Somerset area, I can strobgly recommend Arnie Levics of Yeovil & Street. They have looked after the Trubo Technics MK1 for the last 13+years, and previous to this my MK1 1600GTI for 4 years. If this doesn;t tell you how good they are then I'm not sure what will. Mark in Yeovil does run of the mill stuff - servicing MOTs' etc, and the street brnach also does the same, but Andy is a bit of a fruit loop and is first class at engine building tuning etc etc. Has built a couple of Turbo'd MK1's, a 16v turbo'ed Scirrocco, one of the first MK2 VR6's, oh and a mid engined MK1 VR6 !!! AS I said the blokes a fruit loop !!! But THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF

Located on the Lynx Trading Estate, the estate where the SSDC offices are based. Right opposite Wickes. Small place compared to Street - just tell him the Lad with the MK1 Turbo Technics sent you - he'll know who you mean  

I have use tsr in Bridgwater quite allot and found them  reasonable. Never got round to using arnies although car has been off the road for a while durning which time I have moved closer to street so might look into. Also tried a company in Bridgwater called audi4u. First of all they were top notch then thing rapidly whent down hill and I dont think I would go back unless for parts.

Hey Turbtechnics - I live in Taunton (we did meet at Taunton meet a few months back).

I need some work on my cabrio. As I live between Yeovil and Bridgwater, which way should I go? Need a fuel filler pipe fitted and a cooling problem sorted.

Sods Law SimonF, Arnies in Yeovil has now closed (Went in the last few weeks), but the good news is that MArk has moved back to Arnies in Street so they are stil ltrading  but just form the one place now. Andy who runs Street is a wealth of knowledge as well. They are right next door to the old cinema that is now a night club just off the main high street. Ask for MArk and mention Alec with the MK1 Turbo and he'll know who you mean. Just to show how good they are, Andy built one of the first VR MK2's and a also a rear engined VR MK1 way before Dubsport ever did it, oh and a Turbo'd and Supercharged MK1 lump !!!!!

Thanks Turb - Arnies it is then. Is he any good at fitting hoods? I was going to go to the guy in Bristol that done Daisys cabrio but Street is much closer.
