Early bumpers, but in GRP, does anyone make them?

Hi guys,
I'd like a set of early style bumpers, but molded in fibreglass as opposed to chromed steel. There are a couple of reasons for this:-

Sometimes chrome can look too "bling".
My car is always outside and cheaper chromed items can rust.
I have one kidney and therefore have nothing to sell to fund "the real deal".
I'd like the bumpers to be finished in satin black paint.

Is there anyone in our ranks that is a specialist in GRP? Perhaps someone with lots of skill can mold a set that uses later bumper mounting irons, to cut costs of a conversion further. Clearly there's some cash to be made here, any takers??

Cheers,
Oldfool.

Looking for a series1 passenger side under dash shelf and fittings.

I wouldn't order from them if you want to ever get your parts.  I ordered 1600 dollars worth of parts from them on April 8th and have received nothing.  They also stopped responding completely to my inquiries starting May 18th.

Still too pricey considering you need to get the correct irons, and considering the above response,  not the most reliable.  Anyone else??

hello

hi
check this guy out, his name is simmo and he's on club polo, and mk1 polo .com
he replicates everything in fibreglass and carbon fibre, including early bumpers for golfs and polos. here is the link to to one of him reproducing chrome polo bumpers to fibreglass
http://z3.invisionfree.com/Mk1_Polo_Club/index.php?showtopic=58&st=0
if the link doesn't work go onto mk1polo.com, or club polo search for simmo once found click on simmo's knoledge, there you will find an array of original parts reproduced in carbon, or fibre. had some polo rear arch spats in fibreglass of him excellent quality and cheap as chips,

I found Simmo on the Mk1 Polo Club forum - he has got some skills for sure, check out the link below to the forum to see examples of his work in both fibreglass and carbon fibre.

Dropped him a post and he would be more than happy to produce some Mk1 Golf bumpers in either fibreglass or carbon fibre - all he needs to do is get his hands on a set of chrome ones to make moulds from. The fibreglass Polo bumpers for around £120, so using that as a guide I believe is that would be cheaper then the ones Performance Trim sell?
