Know the place, off the A12 past Woodbridge. Heard some good things about them. Be interested to hear how it all turns out. What are they like price wise?

I'd be interested to hear about the results of this too as I go up that way fairly regularly and it always pays to know of a good bodyshop with experience of Mk1's.

Yeah got her back in time for inters phew, was on show n shine on saturday !! Will be taking her to london volksfest and edition 38 on the no-rice stand. There was a load of pics during the rebuild, will try n get some up on here but it will take a while, im still on holiday !! Really happy with how she turned out not back to concours but custome (sorry guys !!) Cant miss her, dark purple, black compo mo's 16", only two seats, rear strut brace tints and to finish a huge intercooler mounted just under the standard front bumper, nice n aggressive !! Steve and his lads done a top job, esp as they found more tin worm than was first expected. Finishing of a few bits n pieces till im totally happy, all free of charge. its worth giving him a call, even just for a chat, he likes his vw's be it air or watercooled !!

Hi everyone my first post here and once I explain you'll undertand why a newbie to your site has chosen to post here.

Firstly I don't have a golf. I don't even have a VW !

I used to have a Scirroco many years ago and currently drive a BMW.

I hang around on BMW and RX8  boards mainly ( sold my RX last year and still miss it !)

There are lots of things in common between various car forums so when my dad called me from Suffolk and told me he had gearbox issues I came on here to dig around for a recommendation of a good indy near Ipswich.

I found this thread and saw the recommendation. I have since emailed but basically very impressed with Steve at VW anticks. I haven't been there in person but the recommendation on here was enough for me to make a call to Steve and then to put my dad in contact with him.

He collected my Dads nineteen ninety something VW Sharan ( I know it's not exactly a campaign edition Golf - lol ). Sorted out gerabox issues - it seems like lots of modern stuff no fluid top up or change since new !
dealer would possibly have advised new box.

Since then my dad has taken the car back to get his brakes done too,
(new discs, abs sensors and pads to front plus fluid change.

Reasonable prices and top service. Nice to be able to send my retired father somewhere without him being ripped offand getting better serice than the main dealer he was considering usinfg before I did some research here.

Just thought I'd say thanks again to andy and thanks to all as without this board my father may have ended up ripped off

VW Anticks highly recommended - and no I wasn't asked to post here.

Thanks again Andy and thanks and good wishes to all on this great board ! :D
