Would my 1.3 Driver benefit from a new exhaust?
It has a big chavvy big bore on and it can be heard for like 10 streets away, apparently this can affect MPG too?
I fancy a smaller Jextex, would I benefit from a full new exhaust with a smaller bore?
Thanks, Curtis

Tbh mate it's just a 1.3, keep exhaust standard and get some bike carbs or a tune up done by a vw specialist

I went from a completely standard exhaust system to a custom stainless backbox (good for a bit of characterful noise) and an Ashley 4-2-1 manifold which helped the mid-high rev range clean up a bit.
The manifold didn't help the cold running though, the warm air feed reduced slightly, and the lack of back pressure in cylinders 2 and 3 means the gas heated inlet manifold is less effective and carb icing is more likely.
