Universal fuel sender unit

Hi Everbody

 I'm having problems with my 1990 clipper cab auto, I've had a local garage change various parts of the fuel system, the carb was a webber i changed it to a pierburg and am now back to a box fresh webber, fuel pump, filter, distributor something, rotor arm? and filter. the car is still stalling after a while of running, I've just ordered a new fuel tank and am looking for a fuel sender unit,  I've seen a universal one on vwheritage just wanted to know if this will fit my car as i need one and wanna get it ordered so i can have all the work done at the same time. If anyone can give me some advice i'd really appreciate it! I'm in tears (nearly) lol!
