Do you have a cabriolet? As these I believe sit at a slightly different angle in relation to the panel than a tin top, this might be the mod required.

Think you have to cut some off ad the cabby is shorter. Plus dont forget the sealing gasket either that goes behind it. Why didn't you just get a cabby one. They can be found for less than £40.00

This said on the advert that it would fit a cabby :(

i have looked at the other ones on ebay that claim to be for a cabby but they look the same as the one i brought mate…..

Larger fuel tank on Cabriolet that is why they are differnet.
Space saver wheel, large fuel tank, full size spare wheel, small fuel tank.

Make sure you paint/treat the new filler neck, the paint which is on there when new wont last long.

Mark1gls what paint should be used to paint the filler neck? I'm picking one up and would prefer to put some work in on it before fitting it. Cheers

I keyed the paint which was on the new one with some wet and dry then painted mine with this stuff, not cheap and you have to buy alot more than is needed for a filler neck, I was painting some other bits so had some left over for the filler neck.
http://www.rust.co.uk/products/category/28117/epoxy-mastic-rust-proofing-chassis-paint/

Once it was dry (left it for a week) then sprayed on some ratel can stone chip paint.

Hammerite Stone Chip Shield. Spray Shield Underseal Metal Paint for Cars. Underbody Black Metal Paint. Rust Resistant, Durable Automotive Paint, 8 Year Protection - 600ml Aerosol 1.5 SqM Coverage? : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive
(first web link I found so you might find a better price)

I then brushed on some white hammerite paint, I have a white car just to match the car colour. (not the best paint to use on its own)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hammerite-HAM6720201-250ml-Metal-Paint/dp/B001GU8C8U/ref=sr_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1375914123&sr=1-3&keywords=hammerite
Then once fitted I sprayed waxoil all over the filler neck.

I brought a new filler neck 13 years ago for about £75 so wanted it to last so I might have gone over the top with paint/treatment but I use my car all year round as its my daily drive. After the 13 years its been on the car the white hammerite has chipped of in places, I do waxoil the filler neck and car every couple of years and clean regular with a hose pipe under the wheel arches so there is still no signs of rust on the filler neck, it should outlast the car!
