slight hesitation on full throttle. new weber carb

hi guys, im posting a lot because i just got my license back and am road testing my cab, which ive done a fair bit of work too, but only just sorting out teething probs.

Basically fitted a webber and the car runs and idles well.  However when i boot it there is a slight hesitation, it almost feels like its about to cut out.  Then it revs beautifully.  ANy ideas.  Ive changed the dizzy cap, forgot the rotter arm :banghead: , spark leads, plugs and what have you.  Could the timing be out, its an 89 carb?  Also that bracket u fit on the webber to hold the airbox seems to be pretty pants, as it overlaps one of the flaps slightly if u fit as directed, i have my airbox at a slight angle towards driver side to make sure it doen?t.  Anyone got a pic of this bracket fitted to the webber?

what engine?

sounds like ignition. try a new rotor arm, points and gap if applicable and timing. then set the carb up again.
new plugs leads etc will only help

sounds like it's running lean. try to richen the mix a tad and see if it is any better.

its a weber replacement for a 1.8 8v.  Anyone know how to make it richer.  Its epecially bad either if you boot it suddenly or let go of the gas, almost embarassingly

how much did you richen by? remember how far you have turned it, so you can return it back if needs be and have a trial and error play with it.

This webber problem turns up as a regular post.
If the carb is brand new, the jetting should be OK from
your supplier, but it still might not suit your engine.
The webber is really set up by changing the jets and
emulsion tubes for each trottle body. Mine did exactly
this until I got the jets sorted (Cheap and easy job).
It's to do with the overlap of the two throttle tubes
and the mixture has to be right for both.
If you PM me your email I can send a sheet of jet
set-up stuff which might help. Crazy Quiffs can supply
the jets.
