Rusty Fuel Tank

I've just dug out my fuel tank which has been in storage for some time. I had a look inside and it would seem that some water has got in and caused some light surface rust on the inside of the tank.

I'm not sure if this is a problem of not  :dontknow:

Rust in the fuel tank (in my opinion) is a big problem.  It could lead to particles peeling off and contaminating your lines and engine.  In my opinion I'd ditch it but someone may know more on here.

Yep, dont store open fuel tanks for a long time. New or better second hand tank, failing that Frosts do a sealing kit though not used it myself.

Thanks for the advice guys, im going to try new. I saw the sealing kit on frosts and seems alot more hassle than getting replacement.

the sealing kits work great. and will prolong the live of a tank. even if i went new i would still consider sealing it.

If you do get a new tank you may like to know of this site www.carz2.co.uk I got a new tank from them for ?55.72 + VAT and it turned up in a couple of days, plus its got Hadrian stickers all over it so it must be a quality item, seems to be anyway!

Hope this helps
