re. ajusting idle speed

hi there
i have no end of problems with my clipper and i'm about to start hammering it to bits its an 89 1.8 carb model and i was having a fuel problem first the car was losing power then would conk out then i changed the plugs leads dissie and filters, the problem went for a little while then i had a new problem everytime i went up a hill it would conk out so on some advice from the AA they said the fuel pump had gone so i fitted a new one no change since then i have had the car in bits been inside the fuel tank looking for rust which i found a very small amount which has been removed with only three main parts left to change i changed the little fuel reservoir but now the idle speed has gone really low in fact so low in switchs the car off i wanted to try and ajust the idle speed but i can't find anywhere to change it any idea's?  :banghead:

Have you got the dreaded pierburg 2e2 carb!!? If so take it off and put it in with you household trash because that's all it's good for,i think it is to over engineered for it's time and to many parts to go wrong,i bought a cabby and had no end of trouble with mine,it would rev at 3000rpm all the time and was driving me mad,i managed to get a weber 32/34 of ebay and it is like brand new now, they do pop up on ebay fairly regularly so keep your eye out, hope this helps.
