possible fuel blockage?

right i have just bought a 1.1 golf c it has decided to not start we put a new fuel pump on but the fuel is not reaching the filter

any ideas?

full tank and no petrol smell

we were thinking crap in tank or blocked pipe?

both of these are easy to check.

fuel line off under bonnet and blow.

if you hear bubbles then it's clear. if you dont then it's not.

didnt think of that lol if its crap in the tank whats the best way of clearing it or would a new tank be better? if so what sort of price would i be looking at?

Also if the tank needs clearing then check the filler neck for rust. Any signs of slight rust on the inside means I would pay very close attention to the top of filler neck. Likely it will re quire replacing.
