Possible Carb Probs HELP!!!
She runs fine when started an for the first few minutes runs fine but intermittently, she coughs and splutters under load and then just stops when clutch depressed.
Engine revs freely with no load and is nice and smooth on tickover at 900rpm when coming down from 1100 on auto choke (when not experiencing this problem) Changed plugs, leads, rotor arm, dissy cap, fuel, air & oil & filter. Had tank drained and replaced filler neck, carb cleaned "alledgedly" can anyone please help before I spend any more money, I dont want to have to get rid of her!
Thanks.!!!

Easy to tell if its faulty, simply remove the carb leaving the flange on the manifold, then look on the inside of the flange, if you see a bubble or bubbles change the flange, bubbles are a sign of air leaks in the flange.
best wishes bud, hope you get all sorted

any more suggestions welcomed. should i just replace it with a webber manual choke option, if so any idea on best price for supply. looking at post someone suggested a small filter inder the fuel pump but not sure if this has been changed recently as it had a new fuel pump.thanks for your help.

Probably a leaking heater control valve - the cable goes from the dash out to the engine bay, to a valve on the heater hose (located near the brake servo). The valve gets worn with age, and leaks hot water into the heater matrix, even when the heater control is set to cold. New ones are availble in all the usual suppliers…
