I've got an interesting problem at the moment that has similar symptoms.

The rubber hose from fuel pump to fuel lines has been attached using a circlip that doesn't quite grip it well enough. When you start the engine is runs fine (with fuel pissing out over the floor) but blipping the throttle causes starvation.

After a couple of mins at idle the leak stops and it runs sweet as a nut. Not sure whether that's pressure related that closes the leak.

Anyway, I'll be getting a smaller circlip but I suggest that you check to see whether you've got a similar leak somewhere as symptoms sound identical.

I'll try that thanks.

It could be the WUR, you need a pressure gauge to check it though. For the price a Bosch agent will charge you to do the check you can probably buy one.
