Performance exhaust with standard backbox....

Hello,
         if i buy the hottuning performace manifold for my 1.8gti inj will i still get the power increase if i have a standard back box? i'm not bothered about a big growl!!!

i wouldnt have thought so, a performance manifold (bigger bore/ same length pipes) into a standard (small bore) wont really do owt, you could get a custom exhaust made as loud or quiet as you wish but an exhaust alone wont give much, could even loose a bit top end like i did
