Peirburg serevicing problem

Right, i've bought a service kit from dellorto, and begun servicing it, and when i was trying to find where all the bits went I opened the bi-metal housing assembly up, everything just fell apart, put it back together as best i could but, noticed that the bimetallic part is snapped, there are a few springs that were just laying inside, they wee all knackered…  What should I do next?

I'm gonna try fitting it tomorrow, fitted a new waxstat too..  Wil the matallic thing cause me issues?

Also, couldn't figure out where all the o rings went…

Any help please…

did that already, having just as many problems with that, it'll be going back up for sale soon…  Just want the car all original now, just been having a play with this peirburg before refitting it…

Pretty sure it's the inlet manifold seal now so i'll just fit the peirburg back on…   Hoping this bit where the water pipes go into (Bi-metal housing assy) will not be too much of a problem…

Can you get a new one??

Back again…  Right, just found that it's the automatic choke that i've been playing with not the bi-metal housing assy (maybe it's just called something else in the carb manual) Anyway, after reading the very helpful 2e2 FAQ, i've come to realise that this probably needs replacing..  Upon looking though it costs a fortune…

Also now it's revving at 3000rpm, randomly sorts itself out, but when sorted it often drops off to stall, then it'll go back up again to 3000rpm…

Doing the inlet manifold washer over the weekend, maybe will have some further info then…

Everything i do seems to make it worse, i've spent a fortune so far, maybe should have just got a garage to do it, or bought a refurbished peirburg…

Nightmare…
