NOISY

hi all

ive been working on my car today
but when i started her up
the fuel pump i think became noisy(drivers side rear)
i know she low on fuel,but would this make any differance?
is the pump on its way

It depends how low. If you let them run really low, they can pick up all the rust/dirt at the bottom of the tank and make strange noises. You need to ask yourself not if the pump is on its way out, but why?

i know i should not let the fuel run low,but im just moving it
backwards and forwards to the garage
ill get the can and fill her up
and im in the wrong forum
had a busy day doing the car
is it a easy job? should be able to do myself?
are fuel pumps expensive?

Is what an easy job? Changing the fuel pump or removing rust/dirt from the fuel system? Changing the pump is quite easy but often the cage/bracket/housing the pump sits in, it really rusty and bolts can seize or snap, etc making it a tougher job. Cleaning out the fuel system is a bit of a long job because to do it properly you need to remove the tank, and to do that you need to remove the rear axle. That means disconnecting brakes and suspension too.
