no fuel to injectors

Hi I have a 1983 mk1 golf cabrio GLI 1.8.8v that I am trying to get back on the road but it has a list of faults.

The main fault is that there is fuel to the metering head with good pressure up to the cold start injector but not to the 4 main injectors!!

Is the metering head doneor can I fix it or is it another fault I dont know of??

Ihave exactly the same problem and its doing my head in! I am nearing the end of a restoration and just want it running now. Fuel is getting to the distribution block on top of the metering head but not past it. I dont think the plunger in the metering head is sticking open or shut. I am wondering if the inisde of the distribution block is maybe gummed up, maybe with it being siting with perhaps some unleaded fuel in it……I dont know, any suggesions would be appreciate.

Sorry for hijacking your thread.

I will let you know if I get a cure

you can remove the fuel metering pin from the bottom to clean it, should drop right out. if its stuck thertes your problem. once its out check for scoring, if it has lots then bin it and check your fuel system over completly for rust/grit from holed filler neck. if its ever had problems everything will probably want replacing.

just fyi fuel wont get to the injectors unless you lift the metering head flap up
