Newbie in need of help!

Just picked up my mk 1 series 2 1800 gti last night. Drove it home some 116 miles but after 30 miles or so it started miss firing a little when at low throttle. When i came to a stop it cut out. It Started again fine but was running as if there was something missing. Id put ?20 quids worth of super unleaded (ron 97) in it and i initally thought it was that so i put ?10 of unleaded (95 ron) when i got nearer to home. Still the same. Tryed it again this morning from cold and its still misfiring.
Help me please  :?

Could be a number of things I guess. As you've just bought it, unless a complete minter, would suggest giving a good service - check plugs and leads are ok and rotor arm and dizzy cap.

Unless you've spent all your dough on the car, worth replacing as can make the world of difference if the parts are old.

forgot to mention the mfa is up the wall too! flashing all digits and signs at the same time
oh and switched the heater on only to find out the rear wiper came on too!  :? Not bad eh if your cold and its peeing down  8)

You are normal   It's old and will love your TLC .

took the car to awesome gti in irlam and they fixed the majority of my problems and the car now runs mint! except for when it warms up when the idle increases to 1500 revs. they told me it could be the warm up regulator so its going back in next week.
