New Fuel Pump Fitting for GTI Cabrio

HI everyone

I've just bought an 87 karmen cabrio gti and need to fit a enw fuel pump (pump is whirring). I've got a pump but wondered if anyone could give me a procedure to follow. I've tried the haynes manual but aparently they don't cover the cabrio model. Can anyone help?

Same as tin top , spray WD40 for a few days all over the pump area to aid replacement [it may be very rusty]. Disconnect battery before starting , drain tank .

WD-40 is a MK1 golf's best friend.
