NEW CABRIOLET RUNNING PROBLEMS

Just bought another cabriolet yesterday. Only this is the 1.8 carb model. It hadnt been started for 11 months - just put new leads n plugs on and it fired up 1st go.

Anyway the problem is when i put it in neutral it revs its nuts off and almost sounds like shes going to blow!!

Anyone any ideas please im not used to the carb engines?????

 

probably a vacuum leak or idle control issue

Have you had a good look in and around the engine bay.  Is it an Auto or manual?

Its a manual 1.8 clipper carb model.

I will try to have a look tomorrow but im not reall all that clued up on these cars.
