Mk1 exhaust question

Does anyone know if the Clipper cab takes the same exhaust as a Gti??  Might seem dumb to some of you but I'm a bit new to this VW lark!!

i ordered a jetex for my clipper cab, it was listed as a gti, i got from the down pipe back, the bore of the new one was slightly larger than standard, , put with a bit of hammer persuasion, plenty of paste it clamped up tightly and has never blown or sliped at all,

so i guess the gtis are bigger bore, but  not by enough to realy be a problem, , thats just my findings on it any way, im sure there are alot better educated people on the matter use this site, so they could help.

Ali, is your down pipe a "C" clip type or the 6 Bolt up Type?

The C Clip type is shorter than the six bolter down pipe.

The C clip type was really used on the cabrio/hard top Carbed models, and older Vw`s. like the Mk1 roccos,jettas, but not all.

The Six bolt up type is mainly used on the GTI Cabrios/Hard tops.

Hope that shed some light on the subject… just been out in the shed welding a GTI Stainless to fit a Carb C type exhaust.  Grrrrrr  not quite finished, i ran out of argon gass for the welder.
