Making up GTI fuel lines

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of making up a fuel line for my GTI, to go between the accumulator and the supply line. Can anyone confirm if I've got the parts correct: -

- 3/16 copper pipe
- 2x M14 x 1.5 connector

I've had a look on Automec but can't find the unions I think I need… I know I could buy a replacement from CQ but I already have the flaring tool and I fancy making one myself…

Thanks in advance

Rich

Fuel lines should be 8mm (5/16") i wouldnt use copper but instead cuproknickel as it doesnt work harden like copper does, i have used this stuff before http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8MM-X-7-5MTR-CUPRO-NICKEL-KUNIFER-BRAKE-FUEL-PIPE-/200297209881?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ea2a4e019 you can use 8mm plumbing compression fittings if your joining in to existing pipework, have you lost your original ends of something as you can reuse them…

An edit: if i where doing the job again i would go for plastic fuel lines far easier to fit and will never corrode i will post some links later but have a look for dorman hose and fittings
